NC Scrapbook Crops & Retreats Inc

What do I bring to a weekend retreat or day crop?

Pictures (you will get more done at the retreat if you go through these at home first) Bring the ones you know you want to use.

Plenty of scrapbook paper, tools, embellishments and any other scrappin’ supplies that you can’t live without!

You die-cut and/or embossing machines such as Cricut, Silhouette, Sizzix, Cuttlebug, etc.

Desk lamp for your table in case the crop room has low or shadowed lighting.
Extension cord in case you need it for your desk lamp or other electrical equipment.

You can also bring a small table (the size of a TV tray).  This is the perfect size for your die-cut machines.  It is also small enough that it will fit into the space that you have and won’t interfere with your neighboring scrapper’s space.  I have seen these at Wal Mart, Kmart, Target, Roses and Big Lots stores.  You will not be allowed to bring in any tables larger than this.

Any special drinks and/or snacks you may want for yourself.

If you enjoy listening to music, then you should probably pack your ipod or other mp3 player with earbuds.  We don’t have music playing in the event room simply because it’s too hard to satisfy every person’s music preference.

Paper/pencil/pens – you will meet lots of new people and you are going to become fast friends.  You’ll want to get their contact info to stay in touch and make plans to meet up at future retreats.

Really comfortable clothes such as pajamas, shorts, sweatpants, sweatshirts and t-shirts. You’ll want to be comfortable scrappin’ all day and into the night and you’re probably going to want to change into your pajamas and bedroom shoes after dinner to join in on the “pajama scrappin’”.

You’ll be so busy hoping not to forget any of your scrappin’ supplies that it’ll be very easy to forget the normal things you need whenever you go out of town such as toothbrush, toothpaste, makeup, hair care products, deodorant and clean clothes… However, just remember that this is not a fashion show… come prepared to be comfortable and enjoy yourself.  I promise everyone else will be.

Another great item to bring is scrapbook magazines.  They are great to thumb through if you get a brain block.

CAMERA!!! Don’t forget this item.  I promise you’ll want to take pictures of your new friends and also of the event.  Someone that has never been to one of these will absolutely not believe it until you show them the proof in a picture.  Also, you’re probably going to want to scrap the memory of your event!

You may also want to bring a little spending money. There will be vendors at the weekend retreats and every scrapper is the same… we always see something that we just can not live without!

Last but not least… bring your smile and get ready for it to stay in place all weekend long.  You’re gonna have the time of your life!
